10 Things I've learned about women on this site from creepily reading profiles for almost a year
1.) Women fucking love Halloween.
I mean they go fucking crazy for this holiday. Seven out of ten profiles probably have pictures of them from last Halloween. And I know this holiday just passed, so naturally they'll all show off their 'crazy and wacky' side of themselves. However, I remember looking at profiles in July/August, let's say, and there'd be a ton of pictures with captions "Me as **costume description** last Halloween."
2.) Women fall into two catagories: Bowie Fan or Morrissey Fan.
No joke. Test it. This statement is like birth control pills: works 99.9999% of the time. I told this to my friend who said it was bullshit. Next day he came back and told me that his hugely fanatic Morrissey fan wife had no idea who David Bowie even was. There's very little grey area with this statement, but it totally holds up to the test. I've asked a lot of girls at bars who they prefer more and, one way or the other, they always said that their least favorite half was 'listenable, but I'm not a fan.' It all stemmed from reading a kajillion profiles on here before I completely made this assessment.
3.) Women don't like to cry.
And they'll definitely mention it. They love to laugh and most certainly want a guy that'll make her laugh. You can bet your ass you'll see this in almost every profile.
4.) Women will always have 2 sides to them: The like to go out AND they like to stay in.
Again, read almost any profile. They love to go out on the town, but they also like to stay in and watch a movie or play a board game/read. Just to cover the two extremes and everything in between.
5.) Family and friends are important to women.
They're usually in the top four things of the six things you're asked that you can't live without.
6.) Women absolutely hate messages from douche bags.
It is so stated either as the very first item in their autobiography, or as the very last one in the 'Message Me If' section. But I'm still under the impression that douche bags either a.) don't know they're a douche bag (like myself, who can't control sending a picture of his penis to every profile he visits), much like crazy people don't think they're crazy, or b.) don't care and will message them anyway.
7.) Women hate writing about themselves.
A lot of them will aptly mention something along the lines of hating writing about themselves, or that they refuse to because a paragraph isn't enough to describe them, and if it is, that fact is depressing... which I kind of agree with.
8.) Women love taking personality tests.
Tons of girls out there in perfectly happy relationships/engagements/marriages are here to just take tests. No seriously. They'll say so directly in the profile.
=(This one's going to sound really bad, but I don't mean it the way it's going to sound, just an observation.
9.) 90% of African-American women write in all caps.
I don't really need to expand on this one, it's all there. And no, I'm not generalizing, I'm just calling it how it is.
10.) You can tell how much a woman knows guys when she, craftily, makes her cleavage the thumbnail of a picture and/or sets it as her default.
If you thought that this is a no-brainer, then you know guys. And, I mean, c'mon!
With that out of the way, here's some things I'm still confused by:
-Women who list themselves as 'bisexual,' but explicitly go on, in all capital letters AKA yelling, telling all men to not message them because they're looking for a woman only.
-Women who barely fill out a profile, but still seem to want guys to contact them. This is a dating site, right?
-Women who swear by the match percentage. "If we're not at least a 75% match, don't even bother!" I mean, c'mon, what if it's at 63%? S.O.L.?
I think that's all I've got for now, I know there's more in my head, but I'm tapped out for the moment. I'll write some more eventually.
Cheers~!
So I've read a ridiculous amount of profiles. I'm bored at home and I've been on this site for too many months and I've also given up being really active and <
Anyway, where I'm going with this is here: 8/10 profiles say something along the lines of 'I love to laugh'/'humor is important to me'/'blah blah blah'.
Now my question is: doesn't everybody?
I mean, have you ever met a person who has said anything even close to the opposite?"I love it when guys make me cry!""I live for depression."I don't know, to me that seems like a ridiculous and fairly redundant 'fact' about yourself to include. We all go out with friends and interact with people to have a good time, 99% of that is laughing with them.
Am I taking crazy pills?
Anyhaha, I need to go and re-read my own profile and make sure I didn't put something like that in and turn out to be the biggest hypocrite ever.
Toodles. (Holy crap, I've never used that word, is that how you even spell it?!)
Later,
Fyy
