in our veins there is more than just blood
on our skin we have scars written on them
you and I both have white paper hearts
Fold them back try to smooth out the creases
try to hide all the scratches and marks
all their names, all their kisses and reasons
all their lies, cross them out one by one
You and I need a different parchment
one that's harder to crumple and tear
paper hearts are of use only once, then
there just won't be space enough there
So don't say goodbye unless you mean it
but you don't need to say it twice
I'll try my best to just believe it
though I'm not ready to pay the price
There's no more room
for error
There's no more names left to cross out
There's no more hopes
to letter
There's no more loves that I can afford to doubt
You and I made a final decision
I wrote your name on the very last line
and no I can't bring myself to erase it
even though, I know you've crossed out mine.
